Our students

Our students come from the length and breadth of Rwanda. This group attended a pre-school briefing with our local partner NOUSPR.

 

2018 Intake

Jackline is studying maths, physics and computer science at Fawe Girls School. Her mother is a widow and farms a small piece of land to support her children. On graduating, Jackline wants to be an engineer.

 

 

 

 

Daniel attends Group Scolaire Apred Ndera where his chosen subjects are maths, physics and biology. His mother is a ‘house-girl’ working in a neighbour’s house. Daniel will study hard as he wants to become a doctor.

 

 

 

Yvette studies maths, chemistry and biology at Saint Aloys School. The head of her family is her mother who has no education and no income. She wants to become an engineer.

 

 

 


Godrey studies biology, chemistry and geography at Kagitumba High School. His parents suffer from mental illness. On graduating Godrey wants to learn how to help people with mental illnesses.

 

 

 

Salom attends the Star School where he studies history, economics and geography. His mother has no paid work but helps people with psychosocial disabilities. He wants to become a lawyer.

 

 

 

 

Claire also goes to the Star School and studies history, economics and geography. Her mother is very poor and struggles to feed the family. She wants to become a politician on graduating from school.

 

 

 

D’Amour attends ESK Quaker School and her chosen subjects are maths, computers and economics. His parents are poor farmers with no spare money for school fees. He wants to become a computer engineer.

 

 

 

Claire also attends ESK Quaker School and studies maths, computers and economics. Her parents are subsistence farmers with no money for a child’s education. Claire wishes to go to university after school and do ICT.

 

 

 

Ladislas goes to College George Fox Kagarama a Quaker School in Kigali. His family is in extreme poverty. He studies accounting and wishes to become an accountant after graduating from school.

 

 

 

Francoise ESK Quaker School and her chosen subjects are maths, computers and biology. She is an orphan and lives with her elderly grandfather. She wants to train as a nurse.

 

 

 

 

Kevine  studies at College George Fox Kagarama (CGFK) a Quaker School in Kigali. Her subjects are hospitality and tourism and he wishes to become a tour guide. Her mother is the bread winner for the family but there is no spare money available for school fees.
