Forward Africa Education Trust’s school programme is a values-led initiative expanding educational access and personal development opportunities for young people in Rwanda, particularly girls.
Programme Description
Working closely with our local Partner The Rwandan Quakers, our programme works with secondary schools to support students from disadvantaged backgrounds through a combination of educational support, mentoring, skills development, and community engagement.
Objectives
Improve access to quality education and reduce barriers to school completion Build students’ confidence, leadership capacity, and life skills Equip young people with practical skills for further education, employment, or entrepreneurship Promote peace, civic responsibility, and positive social values
Aims
Enable students to remain in school and perform to their potential Develop well-rounded, resilient, and socially responsible young adults Foster long-term aspiration, self-belief, and informed decision-making Strengthen links between schools, families, and local communities
Outcomes
Improved attendance, retention, and completion rates Increased self-confidence, leadership, and teamwork skills Clearer post-school pathways into higher education, training, or work Young people who contribute positively to their communities and act as role models for others
