Forward Africa Education Trust’s school programme is a values-led initiative expanding educational access and personal development opportunities for young people in Rwanda, particularly girls.
Programme Description
Working closely with our local Partner The Rwandan Quakers, our programme works with secondary schools to support students from disadvantaged backgrounds through a combination of educational support, mentoring, skills development, and community engagement.
Objectives
- Improve access to quality education and reduce barriers to school completion
- Build students’ confidence, leadership capacity, and life skills
- Equip young people with practical skills for further education, employment, or entrepreneurship
- Promote peace, civic responsibility, and positive social values
Aims
- Enable students to remain in school and perform to their potential
- Develop well-rounded, resilient, and socially responsible young adults
- Foster long-term aspiration, self-belief, and informed decision-making
- Strengthen links between schools, families, and local communities

- Improved attendance, retention, and completion rates
