With our community of former students growing steadily, the time felt right to breathe new life into our alumni programme. The response was encouraging: over 30 ex-students came together for what turned out to be an energising and forward-looking day.
The morning opened with two inspiring presentations. First, a young entrepreneur who has built a rapidly growing business shared the story of his journey. This was followed by an experienced leader in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), offering a broad perspective on pathways and possibilities beyond school.
After lunch, attention turned to the future. Attendees were introduced to FAET’s new Alumni Project Coordinator, before a roadmap was presented setting out the direction of travel for the network going forward. Central to the vision is a simple but powerful idea: give and get — that alumni both contribute to and benefit from the network, creating something of lasting value for everyone involved.
The group embraced the concept wholeheartedly. We now look forward to hearing from the committee as they take their first steps.
